Hopefully, I will be back in the swing of things again soon.

You are shimmering, boundless energy

Sorry I missed Sunday Psychic Sit-down yesterday, I was a bit under the weather and just couldn’t get it done, but I will be back next week with a new installment.

Today however, I want to touch on a subject that really does bother me, and that is the way we allow the opinions of others to affect the way we view ourselves. The push to be thin, beautiful, rich or successful comes not from within ourselves most of the time, but from the world of advertising and often social media.

Since some of you who read this have never met me personally, I will tell you that I am the exact same weight now as I was in high school. I am also nearly six foot tall. Going through grade school and even college was difficult for me because of this. I have been called fat, ugly, lazy –because I was fat, stupid –because I was ugly (like either of those two are interchangeable).

What is sad for me to admit, is that I spent a great deal of my life worrying about what others thought of me. I allowed the way the world saw beauty to dictate the way I saw myself, and as I look back now, that was the stupidest thing I ever did.

My guides are almost yelling at me to say this: We are boundless

You are all beautiful in the eyes of spirit and the Divine. None are perfect, not even the ones who pay dearly to look as though they are.

When you tell yourself that you are not enough, you are allowing ego and the dictates of the media driven machine, to disrespect you.  You are allowing the beautiful, individual creature that you are, the one that came to have the lessons and experiences that only you can, to be chipped away little by little. To become less, not in the eyes of the creator, but in your own eyes.

My guides also want you to know that you have an internal guidance and it is simple to use.

If an internal thought causes you to feel bad, then it is wrong and goes against what your soul knows is the truth. Neither your guides nor the Divine will ever say anything disrespectful or negative toward you. They are pure love, and wish that you could see yourselves the way that they see you—as shimmering, boundless energy.

Well, this isn’t the post I started to write, but obviously this is the post they felt needed to be written. Be kind to yourselves, and each other. I know it is hard. People can be cruel, heartless creatures. That is why it is so important for those of us who are teachers and healers to come together.

Many blessings on this wonderful day.

Spiritual Guidance

This week on Sunday Psychic Sit-down our question is one I never tire of answering:

What is a spirit guide?

In short a spirit guide is someone you made a contract with before you came to this plane of existence to help you along your journey while you are here. They were someone you knew, either from a past life or you had a strong connection with when you were in the spiritual realm.

It is the job of the spirit guide or guides (yes, you can have more than one) to help you steer around obstacles on your journey's path, and learn the lessons we came here to learn.

Since your guides have been with you since before birth, and will be with you when you pass from this physical plane, they cannot be someone you have met or know from present time.

In fact, rarely have I come across people whose spirit guides were recent ancestors, such as a grandparent that past before they were born), nor have I come across ones that were famous people such as George Washington or Joan of Arc. I'm not saying that couldn't happen. I am merely stating I haven't seen it yet.

If you would like to learn more about spirit guides, please check out my book Your Guide Said What? A Spirit Guide Q & A. Written with the help of my own spirit guides,we try to answer basic questions people may have about their guides.

As always, I would love to hear your thoughts and questions, so leave a comment below.

Many Blessings!

Sunday Psychic Sit-down

Since coming out of the psychic/metaphysical closet I have been getting a lot of questions from people who are starting out as readers (tarot, mediums, etc.) I have decided to start a weekly blog post to answer some of them.

Here is the first question: What advice would you give to new readers who are just starting out?

The best piece of advice that I could give is this: Don’t allow ego to get in the way and keep you from giving a message. No matter how strange it may seem to you, share it.

What I find, more times than not, is that readers allow our own ego to hinder us. We allow doubt of our own gifts and the accuracy of our messages. Then we end up with something like this.

Side note: Please understand that this conversation was going on internally, while I was still giving the reading.

MG (My Spirit Guides): tell them White
Me: White?
MG: Yes, white.
Me: Like the color?
MG: Yes
Me: ummmm, no. That doesn’t even make sense.

At this point, I completely ignore their persistence about the color white and continue on with the reading which includes a message from the client’s grandmother that I wanted to make sure he got and understood.

After the reading was finished, we parted ways and I went on about my merry way, only to bump into this person not 15 minutes later. Again, I hear the word “white”, and this time I had to ask him if the color white meant anything to him.

He told me, “ no, the color white meant nothing to him.”

I, of course, jumped at the opportunity to say “see there” to my guides.

Then the guy said, “But my grandmother’s name was Blanca which means white in Spanish and she was from Argentina.”

At which point my jaw dropped and my guides took the opportunity to say “Nanner, nanner.”  (Yes, he actually said “nanner”. Although it was with a British accent and sounded rather posh.)

The word white meant nothing to me, but for him it was the name of his grandmother, and that was validation.  Since then, I have I learned my lesson. If it comes to me, I say it, no matter how odd or weird it may be.

It is easy for us to allow ego to take over. We worry that what we say may be wrong. That we will be thought of as a “mediocre or less than” psychic.

Believe me, mistakes will be made.  Being a psychic isn’t an exact science, we are not omniscient, though some would like for you to think we are. Just remember, the messages we receive are not for us, and may not be for us to understand.  We are merely conduits here to pass the info on.
If you have a question you would like answered. Please let me know.

Many blessings!

Out the Spiritual Door

geograph.org.uk

It’s hard to believe that it has only been 3 months since I last posted. It truly feels more like 3 or 4 years. Maybe that’s because the past year has been such a difficult one. But that is not the point of this post.
Some of you may know, but most do not, that I left my job almost a year ago, and no matter how clever, intelligent or talented I am, I remain unemployed which has left me a great deal of time to research and study.

I started questioning my purpose here in this world. I searched high and low for what that it could be. I watched more teleseminars about fulfilling your destiny, finding your path, building a business, getting clients...the list goes on and on. By now I can pretty much tell you what the presenter is going to say before they say it. However, the one thing I haven’t able to find (maybe I just didn’t know the correct words to type into the search engine) is what to do when you are a woman of a certain age who is trying to follow the passion that they feel they were put on this earth to do?

My quests finally lead me to the little known world of Toe Reading. Toe Reading is the “metaphysical understanding that the angle and contour of the toes are the physical manifestation of the path a person’s life has taken” [Toe Reading: Are You Walking Your Destined Path, by K. C. Miller] and when Toe Reading is mixed with Soul Coaching a person will have a better understanding when it comes to making choices in their lives.

I have always been into the metaphysical world, and after watching every video and reading every article I could find I thought: Sign Me Up! I am proud to say that I am now a Certified Toe Reader, and I love it, and it still amazes me at what I can read about a person when I look at their toes. I have also become a Certified Realm Reader and if you haven’t heard the news before, I am now admitting to being a psychic intuitive and empath.

Long ago I put into my bio that I wanted to help others realize the potential that is within them, and that is so true. I’m not a life coach, and until I decided to take those classes, I won’t claim to be.  However, through the gifts of intuition and Toe Reading, I will claim the label of Soul Coach.
If you would like to find out more about Toe Reading you can watch my brief video here.

I would love to hear your questions, because it is truly the best way to learn.

Blessing and Light to all!

Just a side note, in case you are wondering, I will never give up writing fantasy fiction. The Guardians of Haven must go on!

Top 10 Vampires for the More Mature Woman

Over the past few months I’ve seen different lists of top 10 movie vampires. My problem with most of those list is that they were written by people in their 20s or even younger. So for those of us who are women of a certain age I decided to put together my top 10 list of the hottest vampires.

10. Lucien La Croix from the television show Forever Knight played by Nigel Bennett. (That one is for you Jill.)
9. Nick Knight also from Forever Knight played by Geraint Wyn Davis.
Geraint Wyn Davis and Nigel Bennett

8. Angel from the television show Angel played by David Boreanaz.  Who needs vampires that sparkle when you have one like Angel?
David Boreanaz as Angel

7. Count Dracula from the movie Bram Stoker’s Dracula played by the wonderful Gary Oldman.
Gary Oldman

6. From the Lost Boys this is a double whammy. Kiefer Sutherland as David and Jason Patric as Michael. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen this movie and it never gets old.

5. Mick St. John played by Alex O’Loughlin in the short-lived vampire TV series Moonlight.
Alex O'Loughlin

4. From any and all Underworld movies Michael Sheen as Lucian.  I will put Bill Nighy in here as a honorable mention as Viktor. Not really hot, but a hell of an actor and vampire.
Michael Sheen

3. Wesley Snipes as Blade. What can I say, the man was a bad-a.
Wesley Snipes

2. Stuart Townsend in Queen of the Damned as Lestat de Lioncourt. I know I may get some flack for this and not choosing Tom Cruise (who you will notice is not on this list), but I never felt Cruise was actually Lestat.
Stuart Townsend

and finally my NUMERO ONO is
Jerry Dandridge from Fright Night. No. Not Colin Farell. I’m talking the first Jerry—Chris Sarandon.
Chris Sarandon

So there is my list what do you think. Is there someone I may have forgotten? If so, let me know.

Something to howl at

I was beginning to think this day wasn't going to come, but finally it has.

Burdens of a Saint was released today. Fellow writer, Alison Deluca, put a sneak peek of it on her blog today. Pop over there and check it out if you have a moment.

COVER REVEALED

Burdens of a Saint

I have tried to put it off. No really. I wanted to wait until closer to the release date of Burdens of a Saint to show off the cover, but the boys can't wait any longer.

So without further adieu:

Your life will change today...

When Janet Beesinger writes the words in red on her calendar, she has no idea what they mean. But, as a psychic, she knows when the universe gifts you with personal information, you listen.  How was she to know the Universe meant an irritating and sexy shape-shifter who would challenge everything about her life?

Saint Wolfe can feel the gravity of his arrangement with the goddess Hel closing in around him, forcing him to confront his past and the betrayal of the woman he was to marry. Needing to make peace with his past, he returns to New Orleans in search of forgiveness, only to be confronted by his own immortality. His only hope for atonement lies in the hands of a woman claiming to be a psychic. Will she be able to help Saint find salvation before his debt to Hel comes due?

My new crush

Guess what I did last week? Hint: the picture is a clue.

Last weekend, a friend and I went to see Thor: The Dark World, on opening weekend. I’m not sure what I was more excited about, the popcorn, the movie, or a particular character in the movie, and I'm not talking about Thor.

Nope. I’m talking about Asgard's resident bad boy, the Lord of Chaos, the God of Lies and Mischief—Loki. I can so hear Michael Buffer giving that intro.

As a lover of Norse mythology, Stan Lee’s physical characterization of Loki has never been my favorite. Loki is the son of a frost giant and, if we get technical, he is Odin’s blood brother, not son, but I won’t go there right now.

Back to the movie and my crush.

Maybe it’s true what they say about girl’s being attracted to the rebels and bad asses or it could just be me. After all, I've always liked Disney’s villains better than the princesses.

When the Thor and Avenger series first began, I dreaded seeing Loki. In my mind, Loki is strikingly tall, with fiery-red hair and intense, green eyes, not slight, with black hair, but the eyes are okay.

However, after seeing Tom Hiddleston’s portrayal, I’m a bit smitten. If you haven’t seen Loki at Comic-Con, you need to.

Hiddleston embraces the character of Loki, making him a mixture of both irritating and endearing. At times, I can’t tell if Loki’s smile is a product of Hiddleston’s acting or if he is truly enjoys the role of Loki that much.

In viewing the clip above I came to respect both the actor and the character. Anyone man who has enough influence to silence a room teaming with people the way Hiddleston/Loki did, is sexy. Whether women want to admit it or not, we love men with power, and when you couple that with a brooding, bad boy, it's a mesmerizing combination.

As Jessica Rabbit would say,"He's not bad. He's just drawn that way."

But, come to think about it, it could just be the coat. Either way, it works for me.

Love and Light.

To everything turn, turn, turn

Some of us are great with change. Some of us not so much.

For the longest time my life seemed to be ever changing. There is way too much back story here and I won't bore you with the details. I don't know if it is has to do with cosmic alignment or being fed up with the way things are or just being "that age", but I am seeing a great deal of of friends and acquaintances going through the same things and some of you are having the same problem I am with embracing these changes.

I have always considered myself to be part of the first aforementioned category. After all, I am an Aquarius. We should be able to go with the flow -right? We are supposed to like change. However, as Lee Corso would say: "Not so fast my friend." (It's official my husband's love of sports has corrupted me. Wait until I use the word stymied in a blog.)

But during my morning mediation, I realized I was still connected to one thing in particular, and that for me to move on, I must let it go, but this connection ran deeper that even I wanted to admit.

See, I have been having a hard time letting go of the house my husband and I own. It is in another state and we will never move back there.

However, it is the house we lived in the longest. It is the house where I lost three beloved pets and gained another. We had parties and holidays and laughed and cried. Most importantly, it is the house where I met and brought to life four wonderful characters and their world.

Sweet baby puppy
Somewhere, in the deep recesses of my mind, I have come to associate severing that connection with losing those other connections. The rational part of me knows that isn't true. I will always have the memories of those parties and people. It's not like I don't talk to most of them once a month or so. I will always have the memories of Simba, Boo and Bat Kitty. Izzy, my sweet baby girl, who now sleeps beside me as I write this. Plus we have added Ellie, the not so sweet baby girl.

Not so sweet baby puppy
As far as my characters, they are all here, talking incessantly and driving me a bit batty. Saint's book is now finished so Ghost thinks it is his turn.

So what is the problem? Why don't I like change?

Change brings about the unknown, and the unknown brings about fear. I really wish that word could be stricken from the English language. I know it is one that I am striking from my own vocabulary every chance I get and embrace the changes that come my way. It is only a suggestion, but if you are going through changes and finding it difficult, then remove that word from your vocabulary. Who knows it just might help.

With love and blessing.

Confession is good for the soul....

Or so they say.

And here today is mine.

As you can see there is a change in the name and look of my blog. I thought it was time since I don't feel that the original title reflected who I have become. I suppose there is no way of ever stopping my title of "Mother to the World." It is part of my make-up and partially what helped facilitate this change.

Over the past two years my life has been in constant upheaval. From jobs to the move and a myriad of junk in between, things have not been not so hot. Because of this I had to stop and take a good look at who I am, and what it is that really want to do in this life, and that is help others.

I loved being a teacher. In fact, I am damn good at it, but I am also good at writing and storytelling. I used to think there was something wrong with me. Why was it I could be good at things and never really get to do them? I would also think something was wrong because I enjoyed doing so many things.

I searched and searched for an answer. Then I found a book that spoke of people with Renaissance Souls and how those who have one, seem unfocused because they are doing so many things at one time. I thought Eureka! There is nothing wrong with me, I am just a Renaissance Soul.

I admitted this to myself. That I am, in fact, a Renaissance Soul  (thus the title change.) I will tell you, it is not the easiest of things to be especially in a family of practical people. It also isn't easy when you know there is another part of you needing to be set free, and it is the hardest part to admit to.

For too long I have denied a part of myself and a part of who I am. I didn't want people to think I was any stranger than I already was and I didn't want anyone to hold it against my husband. (Bless his heart for putting up with me.) So here today I confess to all: I am an intuitive or psychic or sensitive. Whatever you wish to call it. I am also a certified Reiki healer.

Whew, you really don't know how hard it was for me to say that. This is a deep part of who I am and one that, until now, I was too scared to share. I don't plan on attacking people in parking lots or grocery stores like some psychics that I have seen. Although, there has been an occasional waiter that may have been accosted by me.

But I am starting to do readings for people on a professional level. (Check out the tabs at top.) I am still writing. Burdens of a Saint is finished and will be out soon. I am also working on starting back teaching voice. I just feel that after 20 plus years, it is time to be who I was intended to be.

Blessings and light to all!

Cause you gotta have faith

I have been reading a great deal about faith lately. I am sure it has to do with the changes I want to make in my life. I imagine it feels a lot like staring off the edge of the Grand Canyon. Since I am terrified of heights, it would probably scare the snot out of me, and yet, I would be excited to see one of nature’s greatest wonders.

That is how I feel now. Scared and excited to stand here, on the edge of my own Grand Canyon, arms outstretched, ready to take the plunge. And who knows you might feel like you are in the same place. This is the time when you and I need faith the most.

Faith is what carries us through and sustains us. When there is an absence of faith there is fear and, more than likely, self-doubt. When it comes to fear I cannot help but think of the book (or movie for those who do not read Sci-Fi) Dune and a quote by the Kwisatz Hederach, “fear is the mind killer.”

I/We allow fear to have a great amount of control in our lives. Think of the fight or flight response. We allow it to hold us in place, make us ill or make us mute as in stage fright. Fear can come from anywhere. My fear comes from two places. The first being: how do I know if this change is a good one and the second being: what if I’m wrong and make a fool of myself?

According to my Spirit Guide, if what I feel in my heart is truly my calling, then a way will be made. People and opportunities will come into my life when the time is right. I must have faith. I will tell you it’s already happening. Some wonderful and knowledgeable people have been put in my path and I begin taking Level One Reiki Classes next week. Score one for my Spirit Guide. I am pretty sure he is keeping track.

Resolution or not?

2012 was an incredibly difficult year for me. There were times I was so discouraged about things I wondered why I even bothered. I won’t go into all the sordid details they aren’t really important. There were spots of sunshine and energy, but over all I allowed my life to come to a screeching halt, doing only what I had to do to get by. It is not something I am proud of, it simply happened

The crazy thing was, I could see what was happening, but I couldn’t stop it. I let my health go, my happiness go, and worst of all, I let my muses go. By the middle to the end of the year, I couldn’t write my way through a wet Kleenex.

But instead of forgiving myself for my moments of laziness, I did the opposite. I put so much pressure on myself it was impossible to get things done. Instead I found other ways to squander my time. Since I had not completed the task and I would get mad at myself for being a slacker which would only push me further into my self-made sink-hole.

But slowly, I have been coming out of it. I have finally admitted a few things to myself that I have always known but was reticent to admit. We can discuss some of those later.

This year I begin anew. After all since we survived the Mayan doomsday thing it so seems fitting. I plan on doing things this year that I have wanted to do but was afraid to. And for the first time in many years, I have decided to make a resolution and here it is.

I resolve to forgive myself and move on. Whether it’s eating a second piece of chocolate cake or watching a movie instead of writing. I will acknowledge it happened, but not dwell on it. That's it. Not too earth shattering, but very important.

I hope that everyone has a safe and happy New Year’s.

Blessing and light to all!
